Links of the Week: In the past, students have commented that I'm too political and "push a liberal agenda," even in an intro class where I couldn't, for the life of me, remember ever mentioning politics at all. For that reason, I was hesitant to use G.W. Bush's decision to invade Iraq as an example of groupthink, at first. The more I thought about it, however, the more important I felt it was to use, since it's the most recent big historical example, with the full repercussions still not yet clear. Given that most of you are an intelligent, involved audience, I'll go with the central route here, and provide a few links to demonstrate that the Iraq war has been documented as a case of groupthink by the larger public, and not just a lunatic idea by your Liberal Yankee Professor.
