Teen Years
In my so few years,
I have seen many tears;
In my short travels,
Too many lives unraveled;
I've seen too many hearts
That were torn apart.
I constantly wonder
About humanity's blunder.
When did our passions turn
To an anger that burns?
Why is the violence
Being answered with silence,
And who is to blame
For the people's pain?
While we point the fingers
The pain still lingers.
(Does the pain from before
Show us what's in store?)
For we give God our backs,
And our Faith is what we lack,
While Hope dwindles away,
And Love has gone astray.
