Objectives

Students enrolled in MUS 222 will achieve the following curricular goals:

The material in this course is advanced musicianship for students who are ready to achieve higher proficiency in ear training.

The Textbook

Horvit, Koozin & Nelson, Music for Ear Training, 2nd Ed. (Belmont. CA: Thomson Schirmer, 2005).

This textbook and its accompanying CD/ROM provides students with the reinforcing experiences necessary to develop the tools to take music dictation with ease, assurance and fluency.

Attendance Policy

I will award 3 points to the final average of any student who attends every class all semester. Students who do not want the 3 points may miss two class days without penalty; each additional unexcused absence drops the final average by a letter grade.

Grading Policy

Final Grade is comprised of 66% homework average and 33% solfege juries.

Late work will be penalized 3 points for every class day that transpires after its due date. No assignment will be accepted two weeks past its original due date.
