My Review of the VOS Site

From Voice of the Shuttle, I chose a site from the Shakespeare Resource Center. It gave me a synopses for the play. I think that this would be good for any student attempting to read King Henry V or Shakespeare in general. When you know what is going on the language comes alive to you and you start to understand what Shakespeare is trying to say.

By using a synopses, your familiarnes with the language will grow. Eventually you probably will not even need to use a synopses. I used it when I read King Henry V but it was the first time I had ever used it. By using it I really think that I began to understand Shakespeare's language alittle better.

The second source from Voice Of The Shuttle was Surfing with the Barb, also found in the Shakespeare Resource Center. It gave really good insight into the Shakespearean language. The author, Amy Ullen, cited work by Randal Robinson which stated that all Shakespeare really did was turn sentences around, however, they still ment the same thing as the way we same them in modern day english. She gave a really great exam. Here are some:

I think that language is very important in reading Shakespeare. If you do not understand his language then you will never understand his plays. This was benefiting to me as a Freshmen English student because it helped me to understand the play, which in turn made me feel sure that what I was writting about in the paper about Henry was all true, because after all, I understood the play.
