[ flip, rustle, rustle ]
By the gods, how strange! Let me show you the entry on 'internet' I have found in this book:
An electronic communication network that connects computer networks and organizational computer facilities around the world.
Please wait but a second more whilst I check some of these words.
[ flip, rustle Electronic... ahah! flip, flip, rustle Network... huh? Oh! flip, flip, rustle Computer... hmm, interesting.]
Now for this 'pornography'.
[ flip, flip, flip, rustle ]
Oh, pornographos ! Why not just say so? This is what I found:
1 : the depiction of erotic behavior (as in pictures or writing) intended to
cause sexual excitement
2 : material (as books or a photograph) that depicts erotic behavior and is
intended to cause sexual excitement
3 : the depiction of acts in a sensational manner so as to arouse a quick
intense emotional reaction
Thank you for waiting whilst I looked up this time's meaning of the words. I will try to make it up to you in my thoughts on the subjects.
I have already read upon the true crux of the matter, the first amendment to your constitution. From its statements alone I would infer that all forms of speech and expression are protected. So where do you find a problem? It is all allowable no matter how offensive it is, accept it.
This internet seems mainly outside of the problem. It is not the evil it is just the means by which the evil reaches children. The evil can be reached other ways so I will consider the fact it is internet-based largely irrelevent.
But even I can recognize that your society does not wish to do so. You wish to protect your children no matter others rights and privileges, this is not a completely bad thing but it is misguided in my opinion. Your children will age, mature, and hopefully marry and bear children of their own. If they will eventually know the process intimately, why prevent them from seeing or knowing of it beforehand? Can you not stomach the fact of your child's future?
I see an argument which says that, "If you haven't consented it's an invasion of privacy,"(-Gloria Leonard). Well have not the children consented by seeking for this material? If they were involuntarily subjected to it by an outside force this would be different. I agree "{w}hat we see... is dreadful..."(-The Bacchae), but can it not be tolerated?
I will admit this: I may be biased. I am too in favor of all sexual love, "...wouldn't be sexual love: what pleasure would there be for humans then?"(-The Bacchae), to believe in taking action against any form of it. This fault I consider a blessing.
There, friend, I have asserted my views upon this matter. I would that you would consider my debt to you cleared. If you find my view inacceptable then it is upon you to decide for yourself in the matter.
Good day to you.
