The Drake Well Foundation is sponsoring a symposium on the history of the oil industry March 26-29, 2003, in Shreveport, LA. Co-sponsors include the History of Geology Division of the Geological Society of America, and the History of Earth Science Society. Financial support is provided by Anderson Oil Company and the Summerland Foundation. We have an excellent schedule of events for the symposium--please join us this March.

The Drake Foundation was established in 1951, owing its origin to the American Petroleum Institute which established the foundation to replace its involvement in the Drake Well and its museum. The foundation's main endeavor is the documentation and interpretation of the oil industry and its history on the national and international scene.
